Wednesday, Aug. 21

Oldenburg Franciscan Center Program, Contemplative Prayer, will be presented Aug. 21, 3-4:30 p.m. Cost: $5. Info and RSVP: 933-6437 or center@oldenburgosf.com.

A mandatory driver education meeting for those students taking it in the fall and their parents is Aug. 21, 7 p.m., Batesville High School cafeteria.

The Tombstone Trail will be presented Aug. 21, 6:30 p.m., Brookville Library. Info: 765-647-4031.

Friday, Aug. 23

Ladies 12 and older are welcome to join the Sassy Scrappers Aug. 23, 6 p.m., Church on the Rock Assembly of God, for an optional overnight scrapbooking session. Shawna Howell of Stampin Up will provide instruction and inspiration. Breakfast provided. RSVP: Valarie Vohland, 934-3154.

A junior high youth dance for grades 6-8 is Aug. 23, 7:30-10 p.m., Batesville Knights of St. John Hall, 111 S. Vine St. Sponsored by the Knights of St. John Mission Team. Cost: $5.

Fri.-Sat., Aug. 23-24

The Ripley County Humane Society Rummage Sale is Aug. 23-24, 9 a.m.-3 p.m., Building 12, Ripley County fairgrounds, Osgood. Food, 50/50 split-the-pot, silent auction.

Saturday, Aug. 24

The Red Brick Kiln Road Rally is Aug. 24, beginning and ending at Batesville Primary School. Registration begins at 9 a.m.; drivers’ meeting, 9:45 a.m.; rally, 10 a.m. Cost: $34.95 if preregistered by Aug. 23; $44.95 day of event. Info: 812-623-5727 or www.scenicroadrallies.com.

Batesville Memorial Public Library Kids Health and Safety Fun Day is Aug. 24, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., library grounds. Children from prekindergarten to fourth grade will enjoy free booths with information plus games, crafts and refreshments.

The St. Paul United Methodist Church, Sunman, annual chicken dinner is Aug. 24, 4-6 p.m., church park shelter. Cost: $9. Proceeds go toward church insurance.

Batesville Memorial Public Library After Hours Concert Series and Ice Cream Social is Aug. 24, 7-9 p.m. IU School of Music quartet Harpeth Rising performs a free mix of bluegrass, folk and classical.
