An Eagle Fire Co. drive-thru chicken fry is May 2, 10 a.m.-7 p.m., and May 3, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Oldenburg fire station. Proceeds used for new truck.

Sawdust Days will be held May 2-3. On Friday, Planet D Nonet will perform at 7 p.m., Batesville Memorial Public Library. Wine tasting and appetizers. On Saturday, there will be wood craft vendors, kids’ activities, chainsaw sculptor, refreshments, 11 a.m.-5 p.m., and Chairs for Charity Auction and chainsaw sculptures raffle, 3:30 p.m., downtown.

The Batesville High School FFA plant sale is May 2, 3-6 p.m., and May 9, 3-5 p.m., fenced greenhouse behind BHS. Flowers, zucchini, peppers, tomatoes, cantaloupe, watermelon, herbs and hanging Boston ferns will be sold.

The New Alsace Conservation Club’s 26th annual Fishing Derby is May 3, 7 a.m.-5 p.m., Lake in the Pines, New Alsace. Registration begins at 6 a.m. Cost: adults and children 12 and older, $18; under 12, free.
