Community members are invited to view students entering the Batesville High School Prom by participating in the gallery April 26, 7:45-9 p.m., Batesville Middle School commons. They should park on Mulberry Street and enter the school’s main entrance.

Applications for the $500 Franklin County Extension Homemakers Scholarship that will be awarded to a county graduating senior are due on or before April 26. They can be downloaded at www.extension.purdue.edu/franklin.

Sunday, April 27

The Sunman American Legion will host a chicken fry April 27, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Freewill offering. Carryouts available.

“He’s Alive Forever,” an ecumenical worship service celebrating Easter with over 70 choral voices from more than 16 area churches, will be held April 27, 7 p.m., St. John’s United Church of Christ, Huntersville.

Sun.-Mon., April 27-28

Auditions for the melodrama “Granny Smythe Goes to Washington or ... she was the Apple of his Pie” are April 27-28, 6:30-8:30 p.m., Metamora United Methodist Church fellowship hall, Wynn Street. The dates for the Metamora Performing Arts production are Aug. 22-24. There are parts for seven women, five men and one male or female child. The Cosmic Concert, an online musical performance by Italian pianist Giovanni Renzo to commemorate Global Astronomy Month, is April 28, 3 p.m., Batesville Memorial Public Library.
