Metamora Merchant Association Kickoff Breakfast

April 27, 8 a.m., Cat and Fiddle, Metamora. Cost: $5 plus tip.

Holly Bruns 5K Memorial Walk/Run

Earth Day Program

For children in grades K-6, April 27, 11 a.m.-noon, Tyson Library, 325 W. Tyson St., Versailles.

Franklin County Humane Society Low-Cost Pet Vaccination Clinic

April 27, 1-4 p.m., Franklin County Fairgrounds, Brookville. Vaccinations, flea and tick prevention and microchips. Costs range from $8-$20.  Credit and debit cards accepted, but not checks. Info: 765-647-1444.

Kevin Wallpe Benefit

A freewill offering chicken dinner is April 27, 5-7 p.m., Batesville Knights of Columbus hall, for the young man who suffered a severe brain injury after being struck by a car. Music by 5 Lights follows until 11 p.m.  All proceeds go toward medical and travel expenses.

Batesville High School Battle of the Bands

April 27, 7-11 p.m., Batesville Middle School old gym. Proceeds from $5 admissions will support BHS music programs. Info: Taaron Meyers, tmeyers@etczone.com or 934-6375.

Franklin County Extension Homemakers Scholarship Deadline

Applications for a $500 scholarship that will be awarded to a county senior must be postmarked by April 27. Forms are available from high school guidance counselors, the extension office or www.extension.purdue.edu/franklin.

Batesville Knights of St. John Mission Team Gift Certificate Sale

Five Oaks Lawn and Garden gift certificates will be available through May 20 from team members, at Geis Electronics or Curves or by calling Mary Jo Wuestefeld at 934-3822. Proceeds help fund 30 youth and adults going to Parma, Ohio, in June to help the needy.
