“Grease”

The East Central High School chorus and drama department will present “Grease” March 9-10, 7:30 p.m.; and March 11, 3 p.m., Performing Arts Center. Tickets can be purchased at the door: adults, $7; students and senior citizens, $5.

 

Saturday, March 10

Large Item Pickup

On March 10, Batesville offers curbside pickup of large items from residents’ homes starting at 5 a.m. Acceptable items: clothing; furniture, bedsprings and mattresses; rugs and carpet pieces; rubber hose; appliances; wood, bundled 4 feet or shorter, 75 pounds maximum; insulation; cans and buckets, totally cleaned and dry; paint cans containing dried paint only. Refrigera-tors, air-conditioning units and freezers  must have stickers showing chlorofluorocarbons were removed. Info: 933-6100.

Toy and Clothing Sale/Craft Bazaar

The Sunman Elementary School Tiger PAWS are hosting a spring toy and clothing sale March 10, 8 a.m.-noon, Sunman Elementary School. The annual craft bazaar is 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Info: Julie Dudley, 812-623-6010.

Health Fair

Indiana University East nursing students are hosting a health fair March 10, 9 a.m.-1 p.m., Sunman American Legion hall. Persons will also have an opportunity to donate blood. Appointments: 270-339-4062.

Self Defense Class

A women’s self defense class will be offered March 10, 10 a.m.-noon, Southeastern Indiana YMCA. Cost: free to Y members; nonmembers, $10. Info and to register: 934-6006 or www.siymca.org.

Umpire Clinic

The Batesville Youth Baseball/Softball League is holding an umpire clinic for ages 13 and up and adults interested in umpiring for the upcoming season March 10, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., new baseball/softball complex. Info: Allen Meyers, 212-6044 or allen.meyers@gmail.com.

Bowling Fundraiser

A Dutch doubles bowling fundraiser will be held March 10, 6:30 p.m., East Bowl. Cost: $15, includes three games, shoes and snacks. Proceeds benefit East Central High School After Prom.

Breakfast

The Morris Volunteer Firemen’s breakfast is March 11, 7 a.m.-1 p.m., Schad Hall, Morris. Freewill offering. Proceeds go toward fire equipment.
