Monday, April 8

Scholarship Deadline

Stayin’ Alive scholarship applications from  high school seniors who are  Franklin County residents are due by 4 p.m. April 8.  Scholarships are based on financial need, academic achievement and the student’s written essay on the positive or negative impact that substance abuse has had on his or her life. Sports Physicals

Sports physicals will be offered by Margaret Mary Community Hospital and its physicians to Batesville High School athletes April 10, 5-7 p.m., MMCH Outpatient Clinic on The Hansen Center’s second floor. The cost is $20.

Sports physicals will be offered by Margaret Mary Community Hospital and its physicians to Batesville Middle School, Oldenburg Academy and St. Louis athletes April 11, 5-7 p.m., MMCH Outpatient Clinic on The Hansen Center’s second floor. The cost is $20.

OFC Program

Saturday, April 13

Cardinal Crawl

St. Louis School’s fifth annual Cardinal Crawl 5K run/walk is April 13, 9 a.m. Registraiton begins at 8 a.m. Forms are available at the school, church, parish office, Southeastern Indiana YMCA and at www.batesville.k12.in.us/sls. Cost: individual, $15; household, $40. Proceeds benefit SLS athletics and local food pantry.

Library Happenings

The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will sponsor Battle of the Books, where sixth-eighth graders will test their reading comprehension, April 13. Info: 812-663-2826.

Band Deadline

The registration deadline for the April 27 Batesville High School Battle of the Bands is April 13. The fee is $20. Information and contest rules are available at area high school offices and music departments. To register: tmeyers@etczone.com or 934-6375.
