Spring Dinner

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Ladies’ Auxiliary will have its annual spring dinner March 24, 4:30-7:30 p.m.  Pork loin and meatloaf dinners will be served. Cost: $8. Carryouts available.

Chicken Dinner

The Batesville Knights of Columbus are hosting a chicken dinner March 24, 5-8 p.m. Proceeds benefit American Legion Baseball Team. Info: 934-2729.

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg, will have a stillboard and trap shoot March 25, 11 a.m.  Prizes: meat and money. Free hamburgers for all shooters.

Degree Initiation

Ladies Night Out

A Relay for Life Ladies Night Out sponsored by the Sunman Walking Warriors is March 26, Gibson Theatre. Dinner, 6 p.m.; movie “Just Go With It,” 7 p.m. Door prizes. The $20 tickets are available at FCN Bank, Sunman.

Library Program

Hill Sweep

The Friendship Village Association is sponsoring the Fourth Annual Hill Sweep to help clean up the hills surrounding Friendship March 31, 9 a.m.-noon. Meet at the Friendship Volunteer Fire Department. Plastic gloves and drinking water provided. Rain date is April 14. Info: 812-667-4941.

Spring Craft Show

Covered Bridge

Run/Walk

The Covered Bridge Run/Walk is April 21, 8:30 a.m., Batesville High School. Hosted by Team Batesville, the 10-mile route takes participants to and from the covered bridge near Enochsburg.  There also are 5K or 10K options. Cost is $5 by April 13 or $10 after. Earth Day/Arbor Day is April 22, 11:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., Batesville public library. Speakers and vendors will offer tips for vegetable gardening and drip irrigation and a storyteller will present American Indian ecology tales. Pecan seedlings will be given away.
