Wed.-Sat., June 25-28

The Bluegrass at the Gateway Festival is June 25-28, Whitewater Valley Gateway Park, 19067 U.S. 52, Metamora. Wednesday, 5 p.m., free potluck dinner, bring a covered dish and musical instrument for jam session; Thursday and Friday, 6-11 p.m., bands; Saturday, noon-10 p.m., bands, patriotic activities, fireworks. The Secular Franciscans, a fraternity for lay people who want to follow the rule of life of St. Francis of Assisi, meets June 26, 6:30 p.m., Holy Family Church, Oldenburg, Father Rudolf Room.

Nonprofit teams of three to five individuals are invited to participate in "Art from the Heart, Throw Paint Like Pollock" July 26, 2:30 p.m. Cost: $40.
