Saturday, Jan. 7

Large Item Pickup

On Jan. 7, Batesville offers curbside pickup of large items from residents’ homes starting at 5 a.m. Acceptable items: clothing; furniture, bedsprings and mattresses; rugs and carpet pieces; rubber hose; appliances; wood, bundled 4 feet or shorter, 75 pounds maximum; insulation; cans and buckets, totally cleaned and dry; paint cans containing dried paint only.  Refrigerators, air-conditioning units and freezers  must have stickers showing chlorofluorocarbons were removed. Masonic Breakfast

Batesville Masonic Lodge 668 will serve a monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast Jan. 7, 6-10 a.m. Minimum donation: adults, $5; children 6-12, $3; under 6, free. Takeout orders: 934-3144.

Breakfast

Batesville Knights of St. John Commandery 243 will serve a breakfast Jan. 8, 7 a.m.-noon, at its Vine Street hall. Freewill offering. Partial proceeds go to St. Louis Little Angel Fund.

Coffee Talk

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

St. Mary’s of the Rock Catholic Church will hold its annual trap and stillboard shoot Jan. 8, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg.  Prizes: meat and money.

Batesville Sons of the American Legion will host a stillboard shoot Jan. 8, noon, Prell-Bland American Legion Post 271. Info: 934-2228.
