The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Men’s Auxiliary is sponsoring a benefit shoot for Johnny Fields Nov. 10, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg. Meat and money shoots. All proceeds go to his medical expenses.

The Sunman American Legion Veterans Day Dinner and Flag Retirement Ceremony is Nov. 10, post. Freewill offering chicken dinner, 11 a.m.-2 p.m., eat in or carry out; flag retirements, 1 p.m. Info: 812-623-2055.

The Oldenburg Academy Open House is Nov. 10, 1-3 p.m. Info: Annette Hunger, 934-4440, Ext. 231.

The Daughters of Isabella Chapter 1384 will host a chocolate social for guys and gals over 18 Nov. 10, 2-4 p.m., Holy Family Church cafeteria, Oldenburg. Cost: $5 and a chocolate treat to share. Door prizes, split the pot, games. Info: Rosie Slagle, 934-6668.

St. Paul’s Ladies Sodality will have its annual turkey bingo and raffle Nov. 10, 6 p.m., St. Paul’s Catholic Church Hall, New Alsace. Children welcome. Refreshments. Proceeds benefit St. Paul’s Parish and school.

Tuesday, Nov. 12

The Batesville Farm-City Banquet, sponsored by Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce, Batesville High School FFA and Batesville Kiwanis Club, is Nov. 12, 6 p.m., Batesville Middle School Commons. Tickets at $7, preferably purchased by Nov. 5, are available at chamber, Hertel Shoe Store and Geis Electronics. A few at $9 will be available at the door. Info: Ed Krause, 934-2194.

Ripley County Democrats will meet Nov. 12, Holton Community Building. Dinner (beans and corn bread), 6 p.m. (freewill offering); meeting, 7 p.m.
