OFC Program

Author Speaks

Author Jan Garbett will speak about African-Americans after the Civil War Jan. 16, 6 p.m., Tyson Library, Versailles. She will discuss the courage of a group of young baseball players who stood up against Judge Lynch, and Pastor Cleveland, a predecessor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

DCHF Meeting RSVP Deadline

RAA Evening Series

Brothers Adam and Jarom Sidwell will share their experiences working on special effects and animation for numerous movies, including “Avatar,” “Tron” and “The Avengers,” during a free Rural Alliance for the Arts Evening Series program Jan. 17, 6:30-7:30 p.m., Batesville Middle School commons.

Library Happenings

Driver Education

Driver education forms for Batesville High School’s spring session are available in the main office. They are due back by Jan. 18.

Scrapbooking

The Sassy Scrappers scrapbooking group for ladies 12 and older meets quarterly, including Jan. 18, 6-11 p.m., Church on the Rock fellowship hall. Bring supplies. RSVP: 934-3154.
