Country Showdown

Entry Deadline

Entries for the Texaco Country Showdown, part of the Batesville Music and Arts Festival, are due June 4. The competition is open to bands and singles. Each must submit a CD with two songs and a $20 fee. Forms at WRBI or downloaded from www.wrbiradio. com. The show is at 7:30 p.m. June 22.

BMPL Summer Reading Program

The Batesville Memorial Public Library’s Summer Reading Program, “Reading on the High Seas,” is June 4-July 13. Sign up at the library for the free program. Info: 934-4706.

 

Tuesday, June 5

Scrapbooking

The Sassy Scrappers scrapbooking group for ladies 12 and older meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month, including June 5, 6 p.m., Church on the Rock, 407 N. Township Line Road. Participants should bring their own supplies. RSVP so work spaces and refreshments can be arranged: 934-3154.

5K Early

Deadline

The Batesville Music and Arts Festival 5K Run/Walk, sponsored by Southeastern Indiana YMCA, is June 20, 5:30 p.m., Liberty Park. Entry fees are $15 per person or $40 per household  if registered by June 5, going up $5 afterwards. Forms are available at the Y or www.siymca.org. Info: Angela Hurley, 934-6006.

Senior Club

La Leche League

Garden Tour

The Batesville Area Historical Society Garden Tour is June 9, 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 on tour day. They are available at the museum, 15 W. George St., Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon. Info: Carolyn Dieckmann, 812-212-9382.
