Hat Display Ends

The Batesville Area Historical Society Museum hat display ends June 30, 15 W. George St. Summer hours are Tuesday and Thursday, 9 a.m.-3 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 9 a.m.-noon.

Canoefest

Canoefest wraps up June 30, Whitewater River and Brookville Town Park. Canoe races begin at 9 a.m., followed by the 10 a.m. biathlon, more recreational and championship races, 4 p.m. Great Chicken Fry-Off, 5 p.m. Seven Days Away, 8 p.m. Canoefest Idol finals, 9 p.m. Matrix and 10:15 p.m. fireworks. Chicken Trail Ride

The Franklin County HOBOS (Helpers on Bikes Organization) Chicken Trail Ride is June 30, 1 p.m., Brookville town park. Sign-up starts at 11 a.m. Donations ($15 per bike, $20 with a passenger) aid county underprivileged children.

VFW Grillout

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 grillout is June 30, 11 a.m.-3 p.m., Batesville Kroger. Freewill donations accepted.

Bluegrass Festival

Oldenburg Fire Fest

The Oldenburg Firemen’s Festival is June 30. Parade, 1 p.m.; Fried chicken and roast beef dinners, 2-8 p.m.; Inner Soul, 8 p.m.-midnight; games; beer garden.

Church Cookout

The Church on the Rock pitch-in cookout is June 30, 6 p.m. Then attendees can watch Hillcrest holiday fireworks.

“On Our Way”

“On Our Way,” a musical about Batesville by local residents and sponsored by the Rural Alliance for the Arts, is June 30, 7:30 p.m., Batesville High School auditorium. Tickets at $12 for adults, $10 for RAA members and $8 for students may be purchased at Ruth Ann’s Hallmark Shop and the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce.  To charge tickets: 933-0355.

Fireworks Postponed

Hillcrest Country Club fireworks are postponed from June 30 until a later date due to the extremely dry weather.

The Daughters of Isabella picnic is July 2, 6 p.m., Liberty Park. Bring a covered dish.

Red Hat Deadline

The Red Hat Belles of Batesville will meet July 11, noon, for  a picnic lunch, Liberty Park. Members and guests should bring a covered dish with serving utensil. The Batesville  Area Ministerial Association Food Pantry, 120  Sycamore St., will be closed July 4. It will be open instead on the following day, July 5, noon to 4 p.m.

American Legion Dinner
