Saturday, Jan. 21

Blood Drive

Sunman American Legion, 412 Eastern Avenue, is hosting a blood drive Jan. 21, 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. Info: Roger Lang, 812-623-3685.

Annual Meeting

The Local Farmers Mutual Fire and Lightning Insurance Co. is having its annual meeting Jan. 21, 10 a.m., Osgood Town Hall. All policyholders invited. Info: 812-623-4846.

Free Throw Contest

The Knights of Columbus Council 1461 Free Throw Contest is Jan. 21, 2 p.m., St. Louis School Activity Center. Info: Grand Knight Tom Fritsch, 812-498-6861.

Soup Supper

A soup supper will be held Jan. 21, 4-8 p.m., Laurel Firehouse. Freewill donation. All proceeds go toward the Laurel Volunteer Fire Department for expenses.

Chicken Dinner

An all-you-can eat chicken dinner will be held Jan. 21, 5-8 p.m., Batesville Knights of Columbus hall. All proceeds go to the American Legion Baseball team.

YMCA Basketball Registration

Registration has begun for grades 4-8 boys basketball at the Southeastern Indiana YMCA. Grades 4-5 play Tuesdays, Feb. 7-March 20. Grades 6-8 play Mondays, Feb. 6-March 19. Info: David Hoover, 934-6006.

 

Sunday, Jan. 22

Breakfast

Oldenburg Knights of St. John Commandery 220 will host a breakfast Jan. 22, 7 a.m.-noon, Holy Family Catholic Church cafeteria, Oldenburg. Freewill offering. Partial proceeds benefit the Tri-County Council for Special People.

Stillboard/Trap Shoot

The Hamburg Knights of St. John will sponsor a trap and stillboard shoot, Jan. 22, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg.  Prizes: meat and money.

 

Monday, Jan. 23

Library Happenings

The Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library will sponsor a Mother-Daughter book discussion for grades 6-12, Jan. 23, 7 p.m. Info: 812-663-2826.

Home Cooked Soup Contest Deadline

Delaware United Methodist Church is hosting a Home Cooked Soup Contest Jan. 29. Soups will be judged by those who eat them. Persons must pre-register by Jan. 23: Pastor Tommy, 812-584-3546.
