July 25 is the first day for citizens to submit information to be a school board candidate for the Nov. 6 election. Candidates for South Ripley, Batesville, Milan and Jac-Cen-Del community school districts will file in the Ripley County clerk’s office, Versailles. Info: 812-689-6115. Travel Slide Show
Batesville native Gary Wintz will offer a free travel slide show July 26, 7-8:30 p.m., Batesville Memorial Public Library. He has traveled to over 200 countries and will share photos from Burma, Laos, Iran, Bhutan, Antarctica and beyond. Author/editor Father Jack Wintz, OFM, will be available for book signings at intermission.
