Thursday, April 10

DIRECTIONS! Support & Advocacy Services, a program of Community Mental Health Center Inc., will host Take Back the Night April 10, 5:30 p.m., Dearborn Adult Center, 311 Tate St., Lawrenceburg.

A public open house April 10, 6-8 p.m., Sherman House, will let residents hear a recap of Active Living Workshop presentations and local priorities and give input about increasing physically active lifestyles in Batesville.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Ladies Auxiliary will meet April 10, 7 p.m.

The application deadline for the ETC 4G Scholarship is April 10. High school seniors in Ripley and Decatur counties can pick up applications at Batesville, Sunman or Greensburg ETC offices or download forms at www.etczone.com.

The Friends of the Greensburg-Decatur County Public Library book sale is April 11, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.; and April 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. An early bird book sale for Friends’ members is April 10, 6-8 p.m.

Stayin’ Alive, the Franklin County Local Coordinating Council of the Governor’s Commission for a Drug-Free Indiana, is accepting scholarship applications from high school graduating seniors who are county residents. The Batesville Knights of St. John will host a fish fry April 11, 5-8 p.m. Cost: adults, $9; kids 12 and under, $5. Carryouts available.

The Batesville High School production of “High School Musical” is April 11-12, 7 p.m., auditorium. Tickets at $5 for students and seniors and $7 for adults are available at the BHS and Batesville Middle School offices. Remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

The East Central High School senior class will present “1984” by George Orwell April 11, 7 p.m.; and April 12, 2 and 7 p.m., Performing Arts Center. Cost: adults, $7; kids ages 12 and under, $4.

Auditions for the Tree County Players summer musical “The Wizard of Oz” are April 11, 5:30-9 p.m.; April 12, 9 a.m.-noon; and April 13, 1-5 p.m., TCP office, 327 S. Monfort St., Greensburg. All Saints Parish, St. John the Baptist campus, Dover, will hold its spring craft show April 12, 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

A Franklin County Humane Society vaccination clinic is April 12, 1-4 p.m., Franklin County fairgrounds, Brookville. Four vaccines cost $10 or $12 each. Microchips at $20 and flea and tick treatments also are available.
