Saturday, Nov. 9

Batesville curbside pickup of large items from residents’ homes is Nov. 9 starting at 5 a.m. Acceptable items: clothing; furniture, bedsprings and mattresses; rugs and carpet pieces; rubber hose; appliances; wood, bundled 4 feet or shorter, 75 pounds maximum; insulation; cans and buckets, totally cleaned and dry; paint cans containing dried paint only. Refrigerators, air-conditioning units and freezers must have stickers showing chlorofluorocarbons were removed. Info: 933-6100.

The St. Maurice Catholic Church Fall Smorgasbord is Nov. 9, from 4-7:30 p.m., parish activity center, Napoleon. Cost is $10 for adults, $4 for children 6-12, free for younger kids.

A turkey dinner will be held Nov. 9, 4:30-6:30 p.m., Batesville United Methodist Church. Carryout, 4-6:30 p.m. Cost: adults, $10; children, $5.

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Men’s Auxiliary is sponsoring a benefit shoot for Johnny Fields Nov. 10, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg. Meat and money shoots. All proceeds go to his medical expenses.
