Ladies’ Auxiliary

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3183 Ladies’ Auxiliary will meet Nov. 8, 7 p.m., post home. Info: Patti Weberding, 934-3644.

 

Saturday, Nov. 10

Large Item Pickup

On Nov. 10, Batesville offers curbside pickup of large items from residents’ homes starting at 5 a.m. Acceptable items: clothing; furniture, bedsprings and mattresses; rugs and carpet pieces; rubber hose; appliances; wood, bundled 4 feet or shorter, 75 pounds maximum; insulation; cans and buckets, totally cleaned and dry; paint cans containing dried paint only. Refrigera-tors, air-conditioning units and freezers  must have stickers showing chlorofluorocarbons were removed. Info: 933-6100.

Turkey Dinner

The Batesville United Methodist Church Turkey Dinner is Nov. 10, 4:30-6:30 p.m. Carryouts, 4-6:30 p.m. cost: adults, $8; children, $5.

Coffee Talk

Trap Shoot

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Men’s Auxiliary will have a stillboard and trap shoot Nov. 11, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg. Prizes: meat and money. All proceeds go to the Karen Eckstein family.

Cemetery Meeting

The Evangelical Union Cemetery Association will hold its annual meeting Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m., St. John Lutheran Church, Hubbles Corner.

Chocolate Social

The Daughters of Isabella Chapter 1384 will host a chocolate social Nov. 11, 2-4 p.m., Holy Family Church cafeteria, Oldenburg, for guys and gals 18 and over. Cost: $5 plus a chocolate treat to share. Door prizes, split the pot, games. Info: 934-6668.
