Ripley County voters may cast absentee ballots Oct. 27 and Nov. 3, 8 a.m.-3 p.m., or weekdays, 8 a.m.-noon and 12:30-4 p.m., courthouse election room, 812-689- 4783. Nov. 5 at noon is the deadline to cast an absentee ballot.
3 vs. 3 Tourney
The Batesville Soccer Club is hosting its annual Batesville Casket Cup 3 vs. 3 Tourney Oct. 27, Bill Gillispie Soccer Park. Registration forms available at www. batesvillesoccer.org or at the concession stand.

A chicken dinner will be held at the St. Joseph American Legion, St. Leon, Oct. 27, 5-7:30 p.m. followed by a dance with music by 2 Hot Tacos.
The Laurel Volunteer Fire Department Chicken Dinner is Oct. 27, 5-8 p.m., Laurel Fire House Station No. 1. Cost is $7. Proceeds go toward much needed turnout gear.

Corn Maze Ends
The annual Metamora Corn Maze, located east of the town off of U.S. 52, is open every Saturday and Sunday in October from 1-5 p.m. Admission is $5, or $4 each for groups over 10. Proceeds benefit the Whitewater Canal Trail.
