Wednesday, Feb. 19

The Franklin County Soil and Water Conservation District dinner and meeting is Feb. 19, 6 p.m., Franklin County High School cafeteria. A buffet meal costs $8 (children 8 and under free). The keynote presenter will be Kathy Hersey, co-founder of the Utopia Wildlife Rehabilitation Center, Hope. The educational program will include several live birds and animals. The Moving MES Forward Foundation will host a Harlem Wizards and Milan All-Stars basketball game Feb. 19, 6:30 p.m., Milan High School. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Advance tickets are available at Milan schools and The Reservation, Milan. Cost: students, $8; general admission, $10, in advance; and $10 and $12 at the door. Thursday, Feb. 20

National speaker Marc Wilson will present “Staying Relevant to a Changed Customer” Feb. 20, 1:30-3:30 p.m., Batesville public library. The seminar, sponsored by the city of Batesville, Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and Southeast Indiana Small Business Development Center, costs $20 for chamber members and $25 for nonmembers. Friday, Feb. 21

The Batesville High School Band spaghetti dinner is Feb. 21, 4:30-7 p.m., BHS cafeteria. Cost: adults, $8; children 12 and under, $5. Music by BHS Sportcoat Jazz and Batesville Steel bands.

Females 12 and up may attend the Sassy Scrappers winter crop, a get-together for fellowship and paper crafting, Feb. 21, 5 p.m.-midnight, Church on the Rock fellowship hall, 407 N. Township Line Road, Batesville. No charge. Snacks permitted. Dress warm and comfortably. Inclement weather will cancel. To reserve a table: Valarie Vohland, 934-3154.

Fri.-Sat., Feb. 21-22

Auditions for “Marry me a Little,” the Tree County Players’ production of a Stephen Sondheim musical review, are Feb. 21, 6-8 p.m., and Feb. 22, 9 a.m.-noon, Room 106, Decatur County Courthouse, Greensburg (enter through the north door that faces Washington Street). Four to six male and female roles will be cast. Each auditioner should prepare a show tune. Show dates are April 25-26. Audition appointments are recommended, but walk-ins are welcome: director Jim Powell, 812-593-7235.
