The 1913 Brookville flood’s 100th anniversary will be observed March 23 with the Franklin County Historical Society and descendants of the Fries family, who lost 13 members: 9:30 a.m., Mass, St. Michael Catholic Church; 11 a.m., gathering at the Fries flood memorial, U.S. 52 near the IGA parking lot; noon, light lunch, then 1 p.m. flood presentation, Brookville Knights of Columbus, 333 Main St. RSVP required: 765-647-7365.
On March 23, two Easter events will be held at Summan Community Park. A breakfast begins at 10:30 a.m. followed by egg hunts at 11 a.m. for kids up to age 10. Bring baskets.

An Easter egg hunt sponsored by the Batesville Area Chamber of Commerce and city of Batesville will be held March 23, 11:30 a.m., Liberty Park. Three age groups up to age 9. Bring baskets. In case of inclement weather, it will be held in the pavilion.

The Batesville Veterans of Foreign Wars Men’s Auxiliary will have a stillboard and trap shoot March 24, 11 a.m., Tri-Township Conservation Club, Oldenburg. Prizes: meat and money.
A variety stillboard shoot will be held March 24, noon, St. Nicholas Church, Sunman. Proceeds benefit St. Nicholas School.
