Senior Club

La Leche League

La Leche League of Sunman, a breast-feeding support group, will meet Oct. 3, 5-6 p.m., at Dr. Suzanne Martini’s office, Sunman. Expectant and breast-feeding moms welcome. Info: 812-654-2593.

Extension Board

Positions for Teens

The Purdue University Cooperative Extension Service Board in Franklin County is looking for two county high school teens to serve  one-year terms.  Completed forms, available by contacting the extension office, and recommendations are due Oct. 3. The St. John's United Church of Christ,  Huntersville, Rummage Sale is Oct. 4, 8 a.m.-7 p.m.; Oct. 5, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.; and Oct. 6, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.,   old school house on Columbus Avenue. Info: 812-663-7422.

Oktoberfest

Oktoberfest is Oct. 5-6, St. Joseph American Legion Post 464, St. Leon. Friday, 5-8 p.m., fish fry, karaoke; Saturday, 4 p.m., chicken dinners; 5:30 p.m., grilled pork chop dinners; 6:45 p.m., pie auction; both days, games, food, music. All proceeds go to fund American Legion programs and community activities.

 

Saturday, Oct. 6

Masonic Breakfast

Batesville Masonic Lodge 668 will serve a monthly all-you-can-eat breakfast Oct. 6, 6-10 a.m. Minimum donation: adults, $5; children 6-12, $3; under 6, free. Takeout orders: 934-3144.

Fear Factory

Fear Factory is open on four Saturdays: Oct. 6 (lights on), 1-3 p.m.; Oct. 13, 10 p.m., last tour at midnight; Oct. 20 and Oct. 27, 7-10 p.m., RomWeber Marketplace, enter on Depot Street. Admission $5. Proceeds benefit Cierra’s Club.
